About the Reel Trend Research Guide

Short answer
Who publishes this site?
This guide is published by Influish and written by the Influish Editorial Team. Influish is the company at the centre of a November 2026 news story: according to media reports, Influish, which those reports describe as based in Udaipur, Rajasthan, posted an Instagram video around 4 November 2026 seeking a paid “doomscroller” to watch Reels, spot emerging trends and report them (India Today). The company reportedly said more than 11,000 people requested the application form; that figure is company-reported and has not been independently verified.
We say this up front because it is relevant to how you read the site. The method here is a general one that anyone can use. It is not a description of Influish’s internal process, a job description, or a hiring test. Details of the reported opening — pay, hours, eligibility, deadline, remote or on-site — were not disclosed in any report we verified (as of 6 November 2026).
What is this guide for?
It is for people who do, or want to do, trend research on short-form video: social media executives, content researchers, creators and students. The pages work as a set:
- How to identify viral Reels — the observable signals.
- Instagram trend analysis — placing a trend in its lifecycle.
- Trend research workflow — the daily and weekly routine.
- Trend documentation template — the downloadable log.
- Reel trend evaluation checklist — the scoring rubric.
How was the method written?
The method is built from three kinds of material: Instagram’s own published explanations of ranking and recommendations (listed below with dates), features any user can see in the app, and general research practice — dated observations, repeat measurement, source links and explicit confidence levels. Where we describe a frame such as the six-stage lifecycle or the 20-point rubric, it is our own working tool, labelled as such, not an Instagram definition or an industry standard.
We hold ourselves to a few rules:
- No claims about how Instagram’s systems work beyond what Instagram has published.
- No invented statistics. Numbers in worked examples are labelled illustrative.
- App features are described as observed and may vary by app version, country and account type. Where something is commonly reported by third parties but not documented by Instagram (such as the meaning of the small arrow shown next to some audio), we say so.
- News is summarised in our own words, attributed and linked; we do not reproduce articles.
How do corrections work?
If something here is wrong or out of date — an app screen has changed, a link has broken, or a claim is not supported by its source — tell us via the contact details on Influish’s website. We correct factual errors promptly, change the “Updated” date on the page only when the content actually changes, and note significant corrections on the page concerned.
What does this site not do?
- It does not take job applications or link to application forms.
- It does not sell follower growth, engagement or “algorithm hacks”.
- It does not collect personal data; the downloads are plain files with no tracking.
